- Our City retirement plan is offered through the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS).
- Employees contribute 7% of their pre-tax earnings.
- After 5 years of employment, you become vested.
- The City matches your contributions on a 2 to 1 basis.
- Employees are eligible for retirement either at any age with 25 years of service, or age 60 with 5 years of service.
- Register on Texas Municipal Retirement System website for account management and retirement projections.
Certification/Education Pay:
- City employees may be eligible to receive additional compensation for obtaining qualifying certifications and education levels.
- Certification must be maintained in an active status to receive compensation.
- Certification and education pay amounts are subject to annual budget considerations and approved by City Council during the Annual Budget session.
- Eligible employees are compensated based on the highest level of certification or education held.
